The "Membership Year" runs from October 1 through September 30. We all benefit from each other's experiences and knowledge.
As a group we strive to provide a friendly atmosphere to encourage and assist each other to find, record and maintain our family's genealogical history. Usually being a family's historian is a lonely position. You can consider this a support group for this fun and important mission.
Over the years we have provided many workshops, road trips, and special events to enhance and equip you. GENERAL MEETINGS are the second Wednesday of each month at the Citrus Heights Community Center, except for July and August. During these meetings we host many outstanding speakers with knowledge on many subjects such as:
Monthly WORKSHOP meets on the third Wednesday of the month 1pm to3pm at the Country Squire Estates, 5720 Oak Hill Drive, Sacramento, CA 95841 (In Club House). ((Get ready for some exact but wordy directions: Close to Highway 80 (Greenback & Elkhorn Blvds) go to corner of Greenback & Garfield with Theaters on west corner, turn onto Garfield. The next stoplight (Verner) turn left and then left again on Oak Hill Dr, pass a couple of houses and then enter Country Squire Mobile Estates, look ahead and see the OFFICE sign, turn right. You will see the clubhouse up on left side. Circle the building to parking area. You can park in front of any of the mobile homes just don't block their driveway areas)) With limited parking, a suggestion would be to car pool with another member.
Come and exchange ideas, get help with problems or stumbling blocks. Hear and tell interesting stories of research experiences All are welcome. Please remember to sign in at the front desk.As a member you will have access to our extensive ROOT CELLAR LIBRARY which contains over 4000 books plus periodicals from more than 500 genealogical societies in the United States and Canada. **Begining November 2008
The General Meeting Society Handouts (the Geni-Gram and Bits & Pieces) will be available online in the
Members Only section. They will be available at each meetings for guests. If you wish to receive them by mail, include an additional $8.00 with your membership dues.
As of October 2009, the Bits & Pieces has been discontinued but the Geni-Gram has been extended, so you will still get all the information you need, it will now be
in one handout instead of two separate ones and you will still be able to d/l it off this website in the "members only" section.
