Root Cellar Genealogical Book Club

Members of the Root Cellar Genealogical Book Club discuss the how-to books we have on our shelves or would like to purchase to fill in our knowledge gaps. Everyone knows we would benefit from the information but we need a “push” to get us to read them. The discussion on alternating monthly meetings would encourage genealogical research with enhanced techniques, improve genealogical knowledge through open discussion of the merits of the book read, share ideas of implementation of newly found methodology, and hopefully, help members break down their brick walls. If you wish to be added to the book club’s email list, contact Ron Setzer at

This SIG is currently inactive until 2023.

Root Cellar's Extraction Committee meets every Friday morning at 9:00AM at the Center for Sacramento History, located at 551 Sequoia Pacific Blvd, Sacramento, CA.  Our team, in cooperation with the Center, identifies original records of interest to genealogists and transcribes the names, dates and other items into indexes suitable for use by researchers.  For more information, contact Marilyn Ulbricht.
